Description

Insightful conceptual pieces that colorfully explore the philosophical and the abstract in masterful detail.

Tarot is an abstract exercise. The idea was to complete a painting from beginning to end while listening to an album of music for the first time. Abstract vision regarding the subject of modern drinking culture. Its comic style hides the serious undertone of its subject, its a big problem and this is a big painting. The deep reds used are there for a reason and there is a violent feel about this piece, however, an interesting contrast is that once you detach yourself from the meaning it actually works well as a stand alone abstract.
Directly inspired from the song of the same title and is worth researching because the painting is an abstract landscape based upon the music alone, not from the lyrics or message of the song. Another in a series of abstracts about human nature, this piece is a development in experimenting how to deal with this subject, in a style accustomed with modern living. The black and white squares represent human beings and all other animals.
The title comes from an old computer game, however the painting is an abstract landscape inspired by the studies of ancient symbols and stories. This is one in a series and the design is to show feeling and character in the structure of the land. Are some of the signs of realer living in this room? There are many varied references, messages, symbols and icons painted into the room. The open box in the center belongs to Pandora, it has hope still inside. Realer living is a fun picture and this reflects in the positive nature of the strokes, the comic graffiti style and the looseness.
A painting based upon the Laxey Wheel, a very small tourist attraction on the Isle of Man, its an abstract based upon the feeling and calmness of that place. A small abstract landscape which uses bright colours and interesting symbols to give character to the land.
Abstract piece containing elements from popular culture. It has references to both music and films from around the eighties, for example, the huge masked figure in the centre is from 'Alien' and to the left there are songbooks with the title reference on them, there is a lot to this piece. n the same style and execution of 'Meanwhile Down in Hells Kitchen', Misfit is an abstract piece about the artists passion for mostly eighties popular culture.
This is an abstract depicting the night-time landscape of central Prague. The bright colours and vibrant symbols give an atmosphere of Prague's nightlife. An abstract piece based upon the increasingly hectic and western atmosphere of many European cities.
A summer scene, painted for the winter, using acrylics for the landscape and oil bar for the small flowers. Expressionist piece releasing pure angst regarding the concerns of modern living. A large, bold piece of modern artwork and uses vibrant colours. The painting has depth and detail. The figures, narrative messages and symbols bind the painting together around glowing blues and reds.
The title and 'river' inspiration comes from the song by Creedence Clearwater, and it is the very feeling and imagery of the song itself that inspires this landscape. Painted in huge detail this dusky picture is layered with suggestive imagery and symbols.
