Eva Dvorzsak

Background

I was born in 1954 in Oradea (Nagyvarad) Transylvania. I studied graphic arts under Mottl Roman, and after graduating turned my artistic endeavours to painting landscapes and portaits. My work was exhibited locally and soon attracted interest. My husband Kalman turned his practical skills to making frames for my pictures, but in those days of deprivation under the Ceausescu regime, when food was scarce, my paintings were more valuable as commodity exchange for the basic needs of my family. Nevertheless, together with other local artists, we managed to found the Tibor Erno Studio Gallery and were soon exhibiting monthly. In 1995, I and my family moved to Hungary and set up a small picture making business by a ruined monastery in Kaposvar. Recently I moved to Cambridge, UK to set up an independent studio.
